Dragons’ Den (Draknästet) is an annual competition in the Swedish real estate industry, showcasing young talent as they compete against each other to develop innovative solutions to prevailing societal challenges.
This year’s challenge:
How should the real estate and built environment industry act to adapt, and build long-term resilience to ensure its own survival, and the delivery of our most important societal functions in future crises?
The pandemic has developed into one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time and it has made it clear that the industry is not prepared; our buildings, technology, and infrastructure are not necessarily crisis-proof. Securing civil preparedness requires strong measures in terms of flexibility, cooperation, logistics and redundancy, which need to be coordinated at all levels of society and between public and private actors.
Talented teams of young professionals have been hard at work preparing a 5-minute pitch to present in front of a panel of “Dragons”, well known individuals within or outside the real estate industry, who, in turn, will be ready to question and counter the contestants before voting on the team they consider to have best solved the challenge.
Normally a part of Business Arena Stockholm, the Nordics’ leading annual real estate event, this year’s Dragons’ Den went virtual, in collaboration with ULI, Fastighetsnytt, Business Arena Talks and Pembroke, the international real estate advisor.
